Why do we all have persistent political amnesia?

The political pendulum just swings back and forth every decade or so. We elect Republicans, they suck, so we elect Democrats, and they suck, so we elect Republicans, then they suck, then....

Why do we insist on believing that one party or the other is the answer to all of our problems? Why do we forget so easily how they screwed up the last time? Why do we all have persistent political amnesia?
anti liberal 2010 2012
When the party in power doesn't listen to the American people then they send a political message by voting them out. If the new party in power doesn't get the message, then their gone next election. There's not much more you can do. Voting for a third party is throwing your vote away so you have to pick the lesser of two evils. This November it's the Republicans and probably also the Republicans in 2012 because I don't see Obama's ideology allowing him to move to the center and work with the Republicans so nothing will get accomplished for 2 more years. The democrats will try to blame the republicans when nothing gets done, but the American people are finally paying attention and those lies won't work if Obama veto's everything the Republicans send to him.Why do we all have persistent political amnesia?
Perhaps it will be different , though I did vote for Ross Perot . So did millions of people from both political parties %26gt; but to no avail.

It was very disappointing and kind of scary when you think about the power that both parties have and how it is getting harder to tell them apart .
that's true but look at the record..when republicans control the house the economy booms more than when the democrats do..if either party controls the white house and congress it declines...weird but true. Why do we all have persistent political amnesia?
Most people have Gold fish memory, it only lasts 3 seconds.
Because it's a lot more fun to believe that THIS TIME your party of choice isn't going to screw up again.
Some are trying to protect what they have earned and some just want what someone else has earned, so we vote for whoever we think is on our side.
Nothing is perfect:

We try to pick the lesser of two evils.
Money talks BS walks. We do not vote in our Presidents.
