Is there a way to make yourself have amnesia?

Like, you know, retrograde amnesia. I don't want to remember anything that's personally happened to me over the last couple of years, but I wouldn't mind forgetting everything else prior as well.Is there a way to make yourself have amnesia?
It seems like an odd question, but people (literary) loss there memory by hitting their heads hard. But thats very dangerous, plus most of the time its short term memory loss so I don't know how much good it'll do you.

Well, there's no safe way to be straight forward. Usually a blow to the head hard enough to cause amnesia, can, if not will cause death or mental retardation.

ECT. But with this and other methods there is no way to control exactly what memories you lose. Some people going through ECT complain of losing memories of their entire lives.
